GAETAN FOISY is a mechanical engineering student at University of Rochester and has been making chainmaille for 10 years. He has been interested in armor and forging for as long as he can remember. In his free time he clips and shapes hundreds of “jump rings” and learns as much as he can about medieval knights.
JUMP RING JEWELRY is a combination of original and medieval patterns of jump rings and scalemaille that he has for sale. People often ask him about his process for making homemade CHAINMAILLE. On this site you will find a photo gallery of that process as well as a gallery of his experimental CHAINS AND BRACELETS. Gaetan has also included a PHOTO BLOG of jump ring projects he has made over the years including his infamous chainmaille tie, among many others.
Gaétan loves talking metal and encourages you to contact him with any questions, comments or things to share.
